That's awesome. I did State-Wake and UNC-Duke in hoops on the same day back when I was in Durham. That was an awesome day.

Not that I am one of them, but DVRing sporting events doesn't really work unless you watch it immediately the next morning after successfully avoiding all score updates. Watching a game that you know the outcome of is pretty boring and pointless.

There will be no way to avoid score updates for that Bama-LSU game. People will be talking about it in the crowd, at bars, in the parking lot, pretty much every where you go.

I have tried a few times to completely avoid scores and have only been successful once or twice.

DVR it, then go back and watch the big plays or at least the second half.

Yeah, I'm not going to be home before midnight at the earliest and I'm sure I'll be busy with church or kids on Sunday morning, so I probably won't get to see it.
 
DVRing sporting events is all but dead in the smartphone era. I've done it before several years ago but not since I got a smart phone. I remember being at the hospital with my father-in-law the night of the VT game where we were #1 in the country. Without thinking, I just checked the news and it was the top headline. Wanted to do it on Saturday, but I was desperately updating the Game Thread every few seconds down the stretch.

The Bama/LSU game will be on the jumbotron ticker all game against ND anyway, so that just won't work.
 
Unlike the Va.Tach game I hope our fans don't leave in the middle of the 3rd quarter no matter what the score might be.
