Official CFB Offseason Thread: Saban and Jimbo Trade "Despicable" Punches ! !!!!!!! !

the NCAA has made the Pickett slide rule official, will be down where they start to simulate the slide. that fucking asshole.

Of course that's always been the rule. You can't fake a slide without starting a slide. ACC refs strike again.

obviously we got our asses kicked that game, but it was so annoying hearing people cheering Pickett on and making fun of our players for not hitting him. they didn't want to get a penalty! now, they shouldn't have let him run so far, but still.

Sounds like Addison is considering leaving Pitt.

I would be much more worried about this with respect to Wake's top receivers after Sam finishes at Wake. There will be the questions of who follows Sam, how good is he and who will get the targets? Add in NIL money lures and the " next guys" like Jamaal Banks, Ke'shawn Williams, Dez Williams et al are the ones who might get targetted.

Have zero idea about the legalities of college sports but even though the NCAA transfer penalty is gone could schools extending scholarship players essentially put in a clause to their scholarship agreements saying “if you transfer and don’t meet one of several criteria (I.e., played 20% of snaps, coach didn’t get fired), you have to sit out a year”. Basically a non compete agreement for a year? If they’re no longer amateurs then I don’t see why that wouldn’t become commonplace at schools if the ncaa won’t step in.

They are not going to go backwards and make transfer stipulations more restrictive. That ship has sailed.

Non compete agreements are almost completely unenforceable nowadays.

Who is “they”? The NCAA? That was my point, this would be a school by school basis or maybe even an NIL deal that required a player to not play elsewhere or be liable for the compensation paid. I could see a number of things coming into plat that would be outside of the NCAA’s regulation. I.e. the NIL deals. Booster pays kid $1mil with stipulation he doesn’t play elsewhere. Seems that makes much more sense.

A school offering scholarships with contingencies will not sign any players who have an offer with no contingencies

Exactly. Good luck recruiting anyone to your school if you are trying to add terms like that to a scholarship offer.

This is an okay showing by NC, which has a similar population to Georgia and Ohio. High school football just isn't as strong in this state.

Meanwhile, the University of Texas had Zero players drafted this year, despite the state of Texas having the highest number of draftees.

North Dakota State had more players drafted than Florida State this year.
