Totally Unofficial 2021/22 Premier League Thread (NWT)

Exciting news!!!!

Signs of life seen in Man United players!

Foul - Rob Holding

Sure looks like an attempted elbow to the head from Son. The foul was called on Holding.

Foul - Saka

Saka wins the ball and gets stepped on, but the foul was called on him. This led to the Spurs second goal.

Mark Clattenburg on the soft penalty

Let's not mention the potential DOGSO foul from Ben Davies on Saka or Harry Kane wrestling Gabriel to the floor prior to Son's goal either.

Clearly it's all in our heads.

I'm a Tottenham fan.

The first video you posted is questionable. I didn't see the game, or the play, so I don't know what happened before the quoted clip. But from what it looks like, they were both on the ground, Holding was holding Son (lol) and Son thought he was going to hold him down more than he did, and was pre-emptively moving his arm against Holding's head, but when he realized he wasn't being held down as much as he thought he would be, he pulled out of the move. I don't think that anything should have been called against Son.

The second video looks like Saka was inadvertently stepped on. But I'm not sure if he got the ball first. I went frame by frame, and this image I think seems to show that Hojbjerg touched the ball first and then his foot landed on Saka's foot. I don't think that fits the definition of careless or reckless. He just landed on Saka's foot in the same motion as he took a touch on the ball. I'm no rules expert, so IDK how that's supposed to be called. If its as simple as "Saka's foot was on the bottom, so its a foul", then it was a foul. But if there is context taken into account and the ref believed it was unintentional, if that's allowed, then I don't think it was a foul. Basically, I would have been fine either way it was called.

The third one was absolutely a foul on Kane. No question there.

Burnley going to park the bus for 90 mins and give Everton a run for their money for time wasting....

Take your shit colored glasses off and watch Son’s left hand on Holding’s shoulder - pulling Holding down.

It suddenly makes sense why arsenal fans feel so aggrieved all the time. Were all 14 fouls called against Arsenal wrong on Thursday?

Of course not, but it is clear that Tierney pushed the game in one direction with early calls and non-calls, enabling one team to play more aggressively without fear of reprisal. He gifted a goal to Tottenham and allowed them to get away with rougher play.

The game was clearly evenly matched from the start until the center stepped in and affected the outcome.

It would be one thing if these fouls were called regularly in other games, but they aren’t.

are all arsenal fans whining asshats or is it specific to the arsenal fans here

Well this has gotten interesting.

City will hang 5 on them in the second, but interesting nonetheless.

If the script-writers are real, you know this will end with Mark Noble on the penalty spot

Everton can’t get out of their own way. Amazing.

Richy held in the box, no call, and then legs are tangled, Toney dives and it’s red.

Line every English ref against the wall like and treat them like the Romanovs. Absolute crooks. That call is only made to keep the relegating battle alive.

West Ham had three similar sending offs this month. Cresswell against frankfurt almost identical to that

Cool, a Brentford player just committed a professional foul. Allan got a straight red for that against Newcastle. Why only a yellow now?
