Pro Life / Pro Choice Debate

What's he going to do if they don't comply - send the OK National Guard into sovereign Native American reservations to force them to stop? I'm sure that would go over well. These people just love threatening and bullying minority groups and talking tough.

This seems more of call to action to the type of folks that bomb clinics. He won't need to use official acts from his office.

So say Roe is overturned and states like FL and TX outlaw abortion:

1. Do you think large corporations will boycott those states?

2. Do you think centrist Dems will refuse donations from corporations and oligarchs who don’t boycott?

1. No business is going to boycott the second and third most populated states in the country.

2. If there is a viable Dem candidate, I hope they accept money from whoever is willing to give it to them so it increases their odds of winning. I hope, in turn, registered Dems vote for this candidate instead of abstaining or voting third party since they’re the reason we’re in this mess in the first place.

Oh yes, the old Liberal go to. Blame others for your failures. The Democratically controlled Congress and White House that all of us progressives turned out and voted for could pass a law tomorrow to codify Roe. But they won’t do it, because they don’t actually care about women’s rights, just themselves.

The sooner the Democratic Party dies the better for this country. At least the GOP owns its evil.

Maybe raped 16 year olds can stick the filibuster up their vagina instead of a coat hanger. Glad it will still be around.

All politicians care only about themselves. Republican voters just know how to use it to get what they want. Evangelicals got into bed with Trump, and now they are reaping their reward for putting winning first, and virtue signaling second.

Id argue that both Bernie Sanders and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez actually do care about other people. Why can’t we elect more of them?

Because most people don’t like their politics.

I disagree, the policies they promote are very popular.

That being said if your argument is that a majority of Americans would rather back alley abortions occur than they be taxed another dollar, then maybe you’re right.

I honestly fluctuate on whether or not America is even worth being saved. We’re pretty gross.

No, they couldn’t.

Brasky, I like Bernie too, but he’s not perfect. His record on gun control, for example, is pretty weak. But even though he isn’t perfect from my perspective, I would vote for him in a heartbeat and be elated if he was elected. I have a lot of progressive views, and I can’t imagine sitting out an election and giving any more ground to the conservative movement.

We don’t elect people based on national polling. We elect them by congressional districts and states. Highly unlikely anyone espousing their policies would ever get elected to Congress in a red or purple State, which makes up a large majority of congressional seats and the electoral college. I would guess the majority of the people approving of their policies are concentrated in urban pockets throughout the country. Admittedly, I don’t have any data to back up what I’m saying, but that is my non-educated guess.

They don’t have a functioning majority in the senate.

They didn’t get a majority voting for it recently.

Which is why this party needs to go. Complete control of government and can’t pass a goddamn thing but some pork for big construction companies.

What’s the point?

If Nancy Pelosi walked onto Joe Manchin’s boat and shot him in the head with one of America’s 500M guns it would be the first decent thing she’s done in decades.

You’re batty.

Maybe, but really I’m just angry. Feels like the Democratic Party should being do far more to stop our nation’s regression back into Dark Ages.

They have the money, votes and political power; yet all they do is lose.

It almost as if it’s by design…

If Democrats fought as hard for abortion as Republicans have fought against it, we wouldn’t be in this mess. That’s completely true.

But abandoning the party is not the solution. The solution is to demand better like evangelicals, white supremacists, gun nuts, and the other deplorables have demanded of the Republican Party while still showing up.

well we've spent most of our political capital the past decade on the LGBTQ community, maybe that's just not where the votes are?
