Star Wars thread (Ahsoka)

Disney, sounds like a good idea but just a minor tweak, let’s have all the episodes have some connection to the skywalkers, an uncle here a distant cousin there.

That’s basically a Rogue One show set a few years earlier. I’d fully support that.

But they could definitely anchor the series around a young Leia as a leader of a budding rebellion.

At a certain point, SW is just a variation of the stupid “your mom is named Martha” nonsense.

I thought the episode was solid. The flashback was good, but a little strange because time hasn’t been super kind to HC. Get my man some makeup on those wrinkles.

It did dawn on me last night that what’s holding back most of my enjoyment is knowing the outcome of most plot points. Kids will soon seek out this IP in chronological order, and I bet this show slaps then.

Best episode yet, which really isn't saying much. Is the next episode the last one?

Personally I think the Obi Wan show is absolutely terrible. Wanted it to be cool because I like Star Wars and Ewan MacGregor but it is a disaster.

Finale had a " well let's get this over with" feel to it. I wanted to pay attention and be engaged but I just wasn't.

I really liked the last episode of Obi-Wan. I wish the whole series had been up to that level. Most of the earlier episodes could have used an extra 20 minutes a piece to flesh out the story. I hope they do a second season.

They’re gonna have to keep coming up with ways for Obi-Wan to go back into hiding for years and years in case each finale is the last.

This was my feeling. I think the last episode was far and away the best

And say what you want about the whole series but episodes 5 and 6 had some of the best lightsaber battles of any of the movies/shows

Agreed. I thought that overall the series was mediocre, but the final episode was really good. The lightsaber duel between Kenobi and Vader was intense, and at least the series ended on a good note. And no doubt McGregor and Christensen are willing to do a second season if the pay is right - but as to why there is a need for a second season I don't know. Ultimately any second season (like this one) is going to be mostly filler with the future of the main characters already known, and Kenobi and Vader can fight only so many lightsaber duels before the fun wears off. No doubt there will be a second season though, as McGregor seems to want one.

I enjoyed the series and loved the finale. The goodbye scene between Obi-Wan and Leia got me a little teared up. I wish Carrie Fisher was still around do see this little girl do her legacy proud. I don’t think I need to see another Obi-Wan show but in 3-4 years, I’ll be all for a few seasons about Leia leading the rebellion.

I wasn’t expecting that fight between Vader and Obi-Wan. Actually my first thought was that Obi-Wan landed in the Dagobah system and get some help from Yoda. I figured it would be an even matchup and something would happen to break it up. I wasn’t expecting an ass beating. I really liked when Obi-Wan damaged Vader’s helmet and we got the distorted audio. It was a callback to one of my favorite scenes from Rebels when Ahsoka fought Vader for the first time and did the same thing to the same effect.

If they do a season 2 of Obi-Wan, I think they could have a few plotlines that connect it with the other shows. Obi-Wan could reconnect with Yoda. He could reconnect with Ahsoka. He could be active with the rebellion. He could help protect Grogu. He could get back involved with the Mandalorians.

not going to spoil it, but something happened near the end that made me and my teenage boys erupt and give each other high fives! My wife had no idea what was going on.

the lightsaber fighting is so much better in OW and the Nu-Wars shows than the wire-work fights of the prequels.
