This explains why the destruction of the 2nd Death Star meant the end of the empire:
I partially agree with this. But just because the emperor died, it doesn't necessarily mean that the Empire is destroyed. There was still a lot of the remnants of the Empire that would need to be dealt with. It think this would have made a stronger story for the sequels. The original Thrawn novels dealt with this to an extent with the remnants of the Empire. I would have like to have seen more of what happened with Luke and Han and Leia. I get that they were trying to create a new main cast, but then they prominently included Luke and Han and Leia anyway, so why not tell the story of how they got to that point. How did the first order rise and the rebellion fall? What lead to Luke becoming disillusioned with the Jedi? Why did Ben turn to the Darkside?
Maybe we need Prequels to the Sequels.
All my grandfather’s stories about sinking subs and fending of kamikaze while on a ship during WWII were super boring bc I mean he was right there telling me. He didn’t even die!
It's not great but I like it. That's all.
The chase scenes with the kid and the cruising through the base are wonky, oh well.
There's still an episode to go which will ultimately determine how it's judged, but e5 shows why you don't rate these mini-series until the fat lady sings. I had been Reva neutral up until now, I didn't find her all that interesting but that's changed.
Has there been a single alien species in episodes 3, 4 and 5? Did Disney not have a makeup budget for this series?
Also how do blasters work? Are they bullets? Why do you bleed?
Why does the Empire spend so much on Stormtrooper armor that is entirely useless?
