I watched the Army game at a bar with a lady Deac friend from back in the day. I had forgotten (or maybe never knew) how much of a sports fan she is. It was a lot of fun.

it was his money so i didn't argue. it's for better gaming apparently.

What makes it even more difficult for me is that they both call or text me frequently under the pretense of checking on his mental well-being but it ends up just being a complaint session about the other person or trying to get me to get to take their side in the conflict and I'm not really sure how to professionally distance myself from that whole thing. Also I know them both well and they're both going through a rough time with all this too.

Dude, how you interact with that kid and the support you give him right now is HUGE. No pressure, but please continue to be as awesome as you totally are.
