I have watched all the games. We did have some stops second half. Just saying you need to make them score a touchdown. Stupid not to get the points
 
There is no way you can call this season a success given the expectations. We lose a game we probably should have won against Clemson. We get embarrassed at Louisville. And we lose to both State and Carolina in games we probably could have won. The only thing that could really kill the season would be losing to Dook and that's a possibility at this point. Anyone want to meet up in Detroit, Michigan or Mobile, Alabama or Shreveport, Louisiana for the bowl game?

Yes we had some stops, which makes the likelihood of more stops even lower IMO. Our D isn't exactly composed of all-stars out there, especially with Bothroyd and Mustapha out.

Honestly, with Mustapha playing this is probably a wayyyy different game anyway, No way Maye or Greene scramble for some of those 1st downs with him out there.
 
It’s a pretty bizarre and sad feeling to be excited for the 2nd best statistical QB in ACC history to move on, but that’s where I am. He’s just not the guy you want with the ball in key situations.
 
Clawson told Stan postgame that he went for it on 4th down rather than kick the FG because he thought we needed the TD to win since we're not able to kick the ball deep on the kick off...

Just take the 3 pts and either sky kick or kick the damn ball out of bounds on the kick off. :(
 
this team had chances to win huge games at home twice and couldn't ever close the deal.

I feel like this is strong recency bias. Every good QB has off games in situations that matter/defense has a higher level of intensity (and again, not his fault AT ALL there was a holding call and he made a pass that got a huge completion to put us into FG range wiped out).

Riley Skinner was fucking 5-7 his senior year and we worship him around these parts.
 
We had two more possessions after that take the points.

Okay. PLEASE tell me our head coach did not actually say this. PLEASE. I'm wanting you to be incorrect in a major way. Because NO ONE really.... never mind.... please tell me this is not true.

This cannot be his answer. That might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard Clawson say.
 
Being a Wake fan is such a miserable experience. I mean, we all knew that last drive wasn’t going to end well (especially against UNC), but we all tried to talk ourselves into it. I apologize to my children for indoctrinating you into to this perpetual disappointment.
 
First time in a long time I've had real misgivings about our coaching. Maybe the law of averages just bit us in the ass this season. I don't know. Very discouraged right now.

I mean, we hit a pass up to the 20 yard line. Of course it comes back for an absolute sham of a holding call (I watched the replay and the UNC guy just flipped around and then sold the fuck out of it).

Yep, he bet a trifecta and didn’t place a one of them. Bet against his defense, bet against his kicker, and bet on his offense on a 4th down play for the win.

lol, we lost to UNC last year after a no-call on a guy being offsides by a full yard

but yes this year was definitely worse because we actually did play occasional defense

Except the D let them march down the field there into easy FG range (and likely not that difficult TD if UNC had needed it), so he made the right call on that
