2022 Carolina Panthers Thread - Move to the 2023 thread

Difference maker to the Panthers or the Saints?
 
Improving one of your biggest rivals is super dumb, and like I said before it’s a huge gamble to say he would be successful without a Drew Brees type QB at the position. He would probably end up being just successful enough to never get a high draft pick, the sustained mediocrity the Panthers are known for.

I'm not saying do it, I am saying that it does make some sense and I can see why Tepper has been considering it. And I think he is ok with what they would have to give to get him. Or at least he was.

I was more thinking he'd get us from the 9th pick to the 11th pick. So "improvement" but you're still stuck with a Darnold or whatever.

Wait, give the 9th pick in the draft to Anthony Richardson or Sean Payton? Did I miss the news that we hired Marty Hurney again? Either take Stroud or an OL or DE or trade down for another pick in the 2nd or third

Cardinals with Kyler Murray get coaches fired. He was just as good his rookie year as he is now. He has not progressed. He just got his 1st coach fired, and the next 1 will be fired in 2-3 years.
 
Richardson or Payton is a horrible false choice and guitar and SD3 should be shamed for bringing them up.

You think Stroud will be there at 9?!? He won't make it past 4 and probably won't make it past 2.

To me this is like when the Bills drafted EJ Manuel in the first round because of his measurables and everyone who had actually watched him play quarterback in college for several years began laughing at them whenever his name was mentioned.
 
I would love to sit in on one of these interviews. It's not like they're quizzing them on x's and o's. Their resumes are evident and their work is viewable. It's got to be 80% chemistry with the owner/GM, right? Fishing out mindsets?

At least I'm just wasting the pick in my scenario and not shipping it to our main division rival for a man that put an injury bounty on the face of our organization
 
Tepper should take the brass balls on his desk and throw them in the trash. If he had any balls at all he would have publicly told Payton to go fuck himself

Payton was a damn good QB coach before he got to work with Brees. Remember, he turned Kerry Collins into a Super Bowl QB. He got great years out of Quincy Carter and turned Tony Romo into a starting NFL QB. Then he helps Brees become one of the top 5 QBs of all time. Maybe he lost some of his edge in all the time he was with Brees, but I'd take him paired with Darnold any day over Frank Reich paired with Will Levis or Anthony fucking Richardson.

Cool, then hire him as QB coach. I could lucked my way into 1 SB as head coach with a HOF QB.
 
You could pair Jesus with Sam Darnold and we would still be a wild-card team at best. I can't believe this is the bar we have set
 
The Panthers HC job should be one of, if not the, most attractive currently available job.

Why does it seem our best options are either uninspiring or cost us giving a first round pick to a division rival?

Houston could be seen as better with a top pick on a QB right there
