I did a hard peloton, took a hot shower, am drinking hot coffee, and am overall just very hot. There's something about being hot/sweaty while working a desk job that is enraging.

My wife turns the shower up to scorching levels even right after she gets back from working out in the morning. I’ve never understood it.

i am sympathetic to the general issue though -- takes me a long time to cool down and a tight time window for working out leaves no great options

If you go straight into cold shower after working out it can actually make sweating worse (for me anyway) because it closes all your pores.

If I have to shower right after (I generally try to wait an hour), then I go super hot for most of it and then cold for the last 30 seconds to a minute.

This time of year, my post workout showers are lukewarm- like jumping in the ocean. I've gotten to where even on rest days my showers tend to be more warm than hot.

clogs your pores so the sweat can't get out

Ha, more like leaves my body even hotter internally so when I get out it goes into sweat-to-cool-off overdrive.

I think I'd have to take like a 5 minute cold shower to bring core temps down enough to negate that effect. That's asking a lot.

I kind of wanna get in on this daily cold plunge trend though.

Yeah I do not like cold showers. Should have gone lukewarm vs. hot though. Also, the baby is transitioning me from an evening workout guy to a morning workout guy. But I still typically forget to eat breakfast and feel like I'm going to pass out ~10:30.

Listened to some huberman podcast talking about the benefits of cold showers that was somewhat convincing

Our baby transitioned me from an evening workout guy to a no workout guy, just getting fatter by the hour.
