Rumors that United in for a 20 year old Japanese keeper, Zion Suzuki, who is also USMNT eligible?
yep apparently the club has been scouting him since he was 14 and the powers that be are certain he's going to be a top keeper in a few years

(ETA: I know United are going to sign Onana but Costa would be cheaper and is simply a better keeper. I know EtH has history with Onana but, IMO, Costa will be considered the best keeper in the world in 2 or 3 years.)

apparently his family's roots are in the NW of England (and closer to Manchester)

hell if I know but that's what the Twitter tells me

Interesting developments..... United talking to Atalanta (reportedly) about Hojlund and offering a reduced fee but with Mason Greenwood (fuckhole) going there on loan with no fee

Not sure how I feel about that but I think I'm OK with it. United aren't playing him but he isn't "guilty" of anything legally so nobody can really stop him from playing the sport. So if United can use his punk ass as leverage to help the club then I think I'm good with it? Feels a bit icky but really I would find it hard to shit on another club for doing the same thing. It isn't like he is playing for United for a full season pretending nothing happened or anything, right, Arsenal?

Also, Greenwood would light up Serie A with his pace and two-footed directness especially in Atalanta's system.

this one makes sense. Maybe put in an obligation to buy from Atalanta and call it a day?

Pretty sure Atalanta would tell you guys to shove it somewhere if you tried to include an obligation to buy

Why? He is clearly talented and outside of any legal jeopardy.

He can't play for United again (I don't think) but he will surely be playing professionally somewhere on the continent, or beyond, in the near future.

Also, very rich from a person that supports a club that just allowed Partey to play the full season while on extended bail for rape charges.

I noticed that you've never spoken on here about Arsenal still playing him. Weird.

Mostly because Atalanta doesn't do that kind of business and the money that one would imagine Man U would try to include as an obligation would likely be prohibitive. Their club record transfer fee is €22M.

Send out good vibes

I've never spoken about it because there is nothing I can contribute that you or anyone else (including myself) would consider of substantive value. If he's found guilty of any of the allegations made against him, I hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life. I didn't think I had to come out and explicitly say I'm anti-rape in some performative way. If I were to at any point have commented on the bail extensions and not knowing what that means for the investigations because I don't know UK law (true), you would probably jump down my throat. Same thing if I say that he hasn't been charged for any of the allegations. I wish they got rid of him last summer, I hope they do this summer.

It also wasn't the point of my post that you immediately pounced on to start calling me a hypocrite, proving my point.

I like getting the player. I don't like that he could have been had for no transfer fee last summer but now United are plopping down ~50mil for him. He started as the back up at Inter and won the job... no reason why that couldn't have been a considerations at MUFC. Frustrating.

Pretty cool that my buddies and I saw him score his only league goal for the club live at the Bridge to equalize late in the game, securing a crucial point last season

It’s a good fee too, for what’s a relatively limited player. I hope he does well for Coventry

Last I checked, Britain also assumes innocence until proven guilty.

If he is found guilty, throw the book at him. Until then, Arsenal are obligated to play him as they see fit.

Mason Greenwood.

We’re now nearly £150m in the black on transfers the past three seasons. Wonder when FFP will relent? Unclear, as the big six have spent billions and billions in the red on transfers and seemingly have violated countless rules.
