Other than Mako any of yall's partners got kick ass jobs that bring home the bills?
Not sure about kick ass, but my wife is a professor and she makes more than me, although I think I'll pass her this year with my consulting cash. She's getting headhunted for a few jobs, but they're in similarly shitty states so I doubt we'll leave. One job is at UTSA so it is tempting to move and get good seats for the Wemby era.

My wife makes a little more than I do by about 10k and is crushing it in her first corporate role. She was in retail purgatory for about 20 years and I'm really happy that she finally found her niche. She makes really good money and her work is noticed and appreciated by lots of people too, but it's nice to see her recognized and promoted. The retail world is awful, never do it.

I had my dream job leading comms for HR, diversity and other associated stuff. Great team, good money for a state job, doing 60-70 hours/week. New boss comes in and made her entire team’s lives miserable with demands we couldn’t support. She had never managed people before and it showed. After about two years she was wrecking my physical and mental health, so I left. For at least half our marriage I’ve been the primary wage earner but I am so grateful that my husband said “leave, it’s not worth it, we’ll figure it out.” Used some connections for a PT gig that grew into a permanent role. Not as much $ and “power” but I’m a hell of a lot happier.

TLDR: money ain’t everything, y’all.
60-70 hours a week? Thats a lot of Nope. To your other point it stinks to have something you really enjoy and then in one fell swoop a horrible boss comes in and messes everything up.

My spouse out-earned me most of our relationship. It wasn't until a few years ago when she left big corporate to start her own business that I became the primary breadwinner. That said, she's about 3 years into her entrepreneur journey and she's on pace to earn more than me again next year. Since I work for the man, benefits come through my employer which is a big reason she took out on her own.

Been trying to teach my 5yo how to swim all summer rill to no avail because she won’t listen to me. My pops says just drop her off at the pool with me and leave so she’s not distracted. Literally 6 minutes later my mom sends me a video of her jumping off the diving board and swimming to the ladder without her floaties.

Do you consider yourself more of a teacher or a coach
