Feels like they’ve been putting up barricades and warning law enforcement there for months. Guess they need a few more days to put up more.

The thought crossed my mind that it was starting to look like Trump is actually trying to get in some sort of trouble for his posts about the judges and witnesses. But then as always I remember he's just incredibly stupid.

Couple things in play here.

His defense strategy for trial is to win election, so he's trying to win in the court of public opinion. "Everyone's out to get you (me)," has worked before. Time for a greatest hit album.

He thinks he can say whatever he wants because it's political speech and we've yet to see a judge challenge that significantly.

And, he's stupid / never faced consequences for his actions.

it's all probably a ploy to complain that he's being silenced and a violation of his First Amendment rights. Just another grift and another line for Fox News to parrot/distract with.
 
It definitely is and yes his goal is to win in the court of public opinion. The reality with federal judges are they’re gonna require him to show up before them in person and they’re gonna read him the riot act. Federal judges largely don’t fuck around and you can’t just fire off social media posts about how you think the judge is biased in a case that’s barely off the ground.

I get the public strategy and I’m sure the prosecution and judge do too but that’s not going to stop the judge from taking normal actions in a case to prevent further jury pool tainting or witness intimidation
 
Saw the idea that his lawyers proposed next week for the protection order appearance because they want to do the weekend tv shows bitching more about gag orders and free speech bullshit. So that seems to check out.
 
I can’t imagine being a lawyer and doing these TV interviews and having to completely make up shit that any halfway sophisticated person knows is hysterically stupid. How do these people even face their kids?

The face them for the first few months with handfuls of money they have been paid. After that, its time to withdraw as counsel.

Saying whatever BS they need to say to benefit their client is the job.

I’d be shocked if Trump got a legit gag order or anything else that would happen to a regular person. This isn’t business as usual. If there is a gag order, someone needs to come out and defend it in a press conference. I’m tired of people saying “this case isn’t tried in public.” It is. We are the jury. He wins the election and the actual outcomes of the cases are meaningless.

Consistency has never been their strong suit. Scalia dies 9 months before an election, "the next president should decide!" RBG dies 2 months before an election, "the people have spoken, we must fill this seat!"

he was also posting earlier about how they had 3 years to come up with these charges, why wait until he started to run AND today he was posting about how they were hastily thrown together.
