Wake Golf 2024 - Going Back to Cali for the NCAA Title; Women: May 17-22; Men May 24-29

WF golfer Mark Strickland is the low amateur and one of just 6 players under par in the first round of the US Senior Open.

Strickland just hit the wrong ball out of the bunker; incredibly one of the golfers he was paired with did the same. Both were assessed two shot penalties and then had to re-play their shots out of the bunker…

Emilia migliaccio is playing in the USW Open at Pebble Beach right now and Coach Llewelyn is her caddy. Emilia is currently +2 through 9z.

That’s awesome that Coach Llewelyn is her caddie.

Top 64 after tomorrow make it to match play.

looks like only one of our guys has a chance at the 64. Our men’s team continues to frustrate the shit out of me. We didn’t even give Caleb Surrett much of a look. He committed to State then flipped to TN and is a first team AA, kid is from NC.

Our history, facilities and home course are miles better than either of those schools.

Former assistant coach Dan Walters qualified as well. Even for the day through 15 as of now...plus 1 overall.

The two courses are playing very tough.

Looking like those that finish E will get into a playoff. With Walters finishing at +1, its possible the field could back enough for him to get into a playoff (+1 is currently T72). Evan Beck at +2 still has a shot; Brennan would need to go low today (-3 or -4) -- he has the talent. Will be interested to see how Collin Adams does; he finished yesterday at -3; tees off late today. He wasn't in WF top 5 last season, but he had the best round of the Deacs' yesterday; he has had a lot of time to think about how close he is to getting in the match play portion.
