Conference Expansion: Stanford, California and SMU Join the ACC

Really should have gone after Washington and Oregon as well as Stanford and Cal. Would have made the logistics much easier.
I'm not sure that is true. If a sticking point is expensive West Coast trips for non-revenue sports, adding more expensive travel doesn't help that (just normalizes it).

Most surprising thing about all of this is discovering that SMU doesn't have a baseball program.

I get that they're not a huge school but for a Texas school not to have baseball seems wild to me.

If the extra money is tied to performance it's going to be hard to address the strategic priority of placating the Tallahassee toddlers throwing a tantrum in the toy store. They don't really want an increase in their allowance if it means they have to do their chores.

Oregon State would be a good baseball addition, too bad this is driven by football and they're a nothingburger there

FSU. The psychological study. People in power making bank blame The ACC for ten years of football obscurity while Clemson wins two championships. And convinced their fans it’s true. We need SEC money to compete. Nothing to do with decisions they made. If we had been in the SEC we would be Georgia. Same people who fucked themselves still blaming outside forces. How about you clean house. This ruse is all about keeping jobs in a hard core world. No one calls it out. Dumbest fanbase on the planet.

We're already sick of getting jobbed by ACC refs when there are potential championships on the line. Imagine when there's also a bigger share of the $$ pie on the line.

State of Georgia started as a penal colony. A rich history as they carry on historical roots.

Are you going to build a new Super Max prison to house all the conference expansion participants ?

Also, maybe Biden could take a page out of King George's book and do some sort of service program for those who want their student loan debt retired. Since the Georgia "penal colony" was really more of a release from debtor's prison. Also, the legend of the penal colony is much greater than the reality of the actual settlement.

mack, have you filed that anti-trust lawsuit yet ?
Just wait, the SEC's day of reckoning will come!

It's really amazing people are so afraid of the Covid infected, almighty SEC. If you think the rest of the country is going to allow these rubes to control college football, you are deluded. The smart conferences aren't saying shit right now. People always underestimate the power of Great Universities. When the smartest people on earth come down on the SEC, and it will happen, everything you think today is going to be laughable.

They have overplayed their hand. ESPN is another dupe. The real power is preparing to crank on the SEC. They didn't think this through. You need to think about this from the presidential level of Universties. This is bigger than you think. A war between schools run by Athletic departments and schools run by smart people.

Could happen. What ESPN fails to see, this could be something millions would rather watch. It's just remarkable that people believe people from Alabama and Mississippi are going to control college football. It ain't happening.

Gonna be fun watching collegiate football fuck all over the SEC.

Y'all are missing the point here. This is between Universities run by Presidents and Universities run by Athletics. The SEC has gone all in for football at all costs. The ACC has powerful CEO's. So does the Big Ten. This shit ain't near over. In fact, in the end we could be way better off.

It's hilarious to think the President's of Michigan, Ohio State, UVA, USC etc. Are gonna sit back and let the Covid infected rube SEC morons control college football. The checker playing conference. Checkmate is coming.

It’s why Trump is there today taking a perp walk.
Are you simultaneously trying to critique Georgia for being a former penal colony while complimenting it for being the state to arrest Trump?

Anyway, if we end up acquiring Stanford & Cal at a steep discount, and that helps preserve our conference in the long run, and that only happened due to the departure that Oregon and Washington... then, thanks B1G!

Four ACC presidents Stanford or Cal grads. ND been playing Stanford since 1925. We about to see how power works. Same way BIG how many is going to feel it when they tell football coaches who owns The Brand. Everything happening today will be different ten years from now. Good job by the ACC signing that contract. Except for FSU who will be erased by hurricanes and sea rise in ten years.

I asked earlier and there wasn’t an answer I don’t think but doesn’t the fact that the SEC and the Big 10 are both in an arms race with each other undercut an anti-trust allegation (not taking into consideration the larger NCAA question)

No. I’m pointing out criming is accepted way of life there. TRUMP crimed in 50 states. And I’m not saying it goes unpunished. Trump gonna shit his pants when he sees Fulton County Jail. A Third World lockup.

Please compare and contrast life in Georgia and North Carolina.

(Not really, just being rhetorical.)
