What are you listening to right now?

Currently in Ryman Auditorium waiting for Jason Isbell to take the stage. Just listened to his wife Amanda Shires who can definitely sing.

The seats in Ryman are small. As in, there are essentially Church pews with six paid seats per section. But odds are, two of the six people who bought seats are 250+ lb, and you got six folks squeezing into five seats. Life was simper in 1892.
 
I was driving my kids to school last week and We Didn't Start the Fire came on. My kids asked about it and I said I was surprised that nobody had tried to do a current version of it. Then this weekend we were driving and apparently Fallout Boy has done a remake of it. Which was kind of fitting as the old song is pretty stupid and the new one is pretty stupid. However, I also think it is pretty insulting that shitty Fallout Boy thinks they have the clout to remake Billy Joel.

Reminds me a few weeks ago at our party we had karaoke and this group of 11-12yr old boys did “Never Gonna give You Up” and somehow they rocked it. How ??

I saw Billy Joel say in a documentary that We Didn't Start the Fire was his least favorite song he's ever released. I like Billy Joel but that song is rough. Fallout Boy sucks to the degree that it fits they would try to cover that song and somehow make it worse.

And Billy Joel, who hasn't made new music in 30 years, said he was good with them covering/updating it. Something like "I'm not going to, so they can." #cashthatcheck
