Totally Unofficial 2023/24 Premier League Thread

Laughable and wild that Manchester United, as shit as they've played, are just 5 points back of Spurs in 3rd that started the season tempting the Ewing Theory to come to fruition.

Our director of football, Kevin Thelwell cites xGdiff as one of his main KPIs, and he’s really got something to show since firing Lamps. Approaching the Ancelotti heights when we were really humming with James, DCL, Richy is impressive given the spending constraints the last five seasons.

Finally got around to watching Chelsea-City. That was some game. Lots of great players but thought Sterling was the best player on the pitch. Not good enough for Southgate though.

Everton docked 10 points.

Blue Twitter will NOT be a happy place today.

The amount of financial cheating that Man City did is staggering, but they are going to pay the best lawyers to delay any decision until we are all dead.

I think it is silly to have things like FFP, but the rules are the rules and Man City clearly broke them dozens of times and had no interest in competing in a way which was asked of all clubs.

it's unfortunate and not at all laughable. Everton has been having a really nice campaign. I have no doubt Dyche will find a way to motivate the team and keep them up, but this just objectively sucks for the whole league.

Not surprising those who find it amusing.

Just make sure you post your favorite whiny posts from Blue twitter in this thread today, mmmmkay?

fucking hell, could you be more sanctimonious?

I don’t care about the penalty if it was only for breaching the £ threshold, because then maybe it could be applied to other clubs, let’s see. But the claim (which wasn’t part of any charge against the club, but the league said in its statement) that the club failed to act in good faith seems impossible to substantiate and really feels like grinding an axe.

I still think we stay up, but this is really disappointing.
