just me and Elon

ELON MUSK: Tesla's gotten to where it's gotten with no advertising at all... sells twice as much in terms of electric vehicles, more than all the carmakers in the United States combined. Tesla's done more to help the environment than all other companies combined. It would be fair to say that as the leader of the company, I've done more for the environment than any single human on earth.

ANDREW ROSS SORKIN: How do you feel about that?

MUSK: How do I feel about that?

SORKIN: No, I'm asking you personally how you feel about that, because we are talking about power and influence --

MUSK: I'm saying what I care about is the reality of goodness, not the perception of it. And what I see all over the place is people who care about looking good while doing evil. Fuck them.

Jesus I miss the chat thread for two hours and Tommie murdered diggler? Where’d that come from?

Besides excel is holding the world together probably more than anyone realizes.

More work questions for @WindyCityDeac, @TownieDeac , and anyone else:

Looking for a CRM system for our work to track clients: minimum of what I want it to do is:

  • Keep client information
  • allow for case noting
  • allow for document upload associated with clients
  • strongly preferred: ability to demarcate in which program(s) clients are enrolled as to not duplicate client entries if they are in > 1 program
I inherited the use of CommCare now and it sucks and is too cumbersome and few people actually use it. Looked at Apricot, but might be more than we need/can afford.

Probably too much of a pipe dream to be able to handle volunteer roles, scheduling, and hours tracking - but we can find a secondary system for that (there's lots of volunteer-centric software)

You look at Salesforce at all for this? I think they are actually pretty reasonable for non profits. If you go in that direction seriously hit me up. I’ve got a lot of admin and platform dev experience and my company (built on SFDC) sponsors us donating our time for non profits and I could help a lot.

lol at Elon putting himself over Rachel Carson read a book dude

She's a junior and he's a freshman (gasp!) and they've been dating for about 3 months now. He's just kind of... there? They've already broken up once and I don't see this as a long term thing. I don't think he does any extracurricular activities. Sounds like his home life is a drag so he hangs out more at our place. It's fine, but I would prefer it if they didn't kick me out of my hang space every Friday night.
Aaaand, they're done. If past is prologue, she'll have a new infatuation before the week is over.

Oh no! We were all so invested. Is she ok? Does she get a trip with dad to the ice cream parlor, where he says folksy stuff about finding the right guy someday and how he will be someone just like her dad?

Let's see if she can fly solo for the next ten minutes before I start suggesting she go look for another?

Her school had a meeting today about their food service and she shared with the principal that a couple other high schools in the county have a refrigerator for leftover meals (sandwiches, salads, etc.) that anyone is welcome to pick up after the school day is over. The reasoning being, if the food is going to get tossed anyway, may as well make it available to anyone to take home. She pointed out that there is a stigma attached to food insecurity and having something accessible to everyone could help those who might be too embarrassed to ask for help, to have healthy food available. Apparently, the principal responded "we don't have that problem here.". So, now, she is taking the issue up with the school's food service director to see what can be done. She definitely drives me crazy sometimes, but then does something like this.

Couldn’t quote your post @diggler but the people who build the products and the ones who sell them were talking. When I need TurboTax or whatever I’ll be sure to ask. Buying mansions with your Excel ass job.

Oh my

fiancé worked for a group practice while she was preparing to start her own - had thousands of sessions but had to give up nearly 40/50% of her income to tha boss

made a world a better place imo via sessions but definitely was a healthy capitalist enterprise

her future pledge is to do more pro bono work when she gets Maryland licensure and starts a practice here - she'll be able to do it when she keeps all her profits
This is what my wife did/does as well. When she transitioned into more private outpatient practice, she was under someone and paid a pretty large percentage. She is slowly transitioning away from that, and taking more on her own, and keeps a lot of sliding scale slots open.
