I entered obstacle race training mode this week. Tough Mudder with the wife in April then running a Spartan Beast with one of my soccer players in May for his senior project. I hit 16 unbroken legless rope climbs at 15 feet this morning. Can’t lift my arms.
 
@Wakeforest22890 how does the quad system account for the improvement of a team - in the face of early season losses - from injuries or NCAA waiver issues

kind of weird that we played those games without two very good players, yet they're supposed to reflect the ability of a team come March

I hit 175 this morning.

Man I’m jealous, rope climbs and pull ups are my kryptonite. Cant do them at all

I learned this weekend that it really doesn’t matter what happened early in the season, so long as the committee thinks your team should be good

Yeah but with the Quad system your conference gets a #narrative during OOC play and that is it for the season.

And now I have a goal. Hang cleaning 176 today.

What I suck at is bench. I do it all the time to compensate for the fact that I suck. Long arms. Was able to do 10 reps at 195 yesterday, which is good for me. I don't max that one often because my wife is not a fan of spotting me.

Ah the ol' Long Arm thing. This is up there with Mako's calves are genetic...

honestly i am not a strong guy at all. I've got bad shoulders etc etc. Cleans have always been pretty easy for me because i think i just have the technique down and can flip my elbows under the bar quickly. I feel like Cleans are much more a technical lift than a raw strength lift.
 
Hahahaha, oh shit we're presenting debates today and we break it up into an introduction, rebuttal, and closing, and a couple of days ago when they were prepping for them one of my girls asked "what do we call the three parts again" and then I told her "first, second and third trimester" and then just walked off and forgot about it but my god is that joke paying off now.
 
Point of clarification... Was this 175 hang clean of the power clean variety? Or are you really getting under it and front squatting it up?

Either is fine... Just want to know what I have to do over here later this morning.

I try not to make fun of mako's calves because, you know, glass houses and stuff.

I train calves more than any man on earth and I walk around on my tiptoes while I teach class. I also eat 200 grams of protein a day. If that shit isn't genetic then there's no reason to get out of bed in the morning anymore.
