Istanbul was our close second choice but we were afraid we’d regret only spending 3 days there.
 
My 110 rescue horse-dog has killed a bird and a snake today and it's barely 4 PM. I have no clue how he catches birds given how goofy and lumbering he generally is.

I forget which tower it was, but a couple decided to video themselves. He thought he shared it with just her, but apparently shared it with her entire dorm. It spread like wildfire at NCSU, then other college campuses. It was spring of 2000 if I remember correctly. She ended up transferring to another university.

v glad the weekend is here

wife has officially made the decision to quit that big bank life and transition into the CEO role at her nonprofit, and the circumstances around that have just been incredibly stressful for her (and I guess me by proxy?) these last couple of weeks, but it is her dream job (though something she was expecting to be starting in, like, 5 years) and I am super excited for her

meanwhile, I've been drowning because one of the VPs in my org decided to tell the COO last Friday that I'd have a complete rebuild of our loss prevention reporting done for him by this Friday ("if not sooner!" god fuck off). I'm not someone who needs much guidance to find work to do or to execute changes, but good god the stuff I was asked to build had literally no requirements attached, and I've gotten almost no feedback on it as I've been working on it. I've just been kind of operating on vibes and hoping I'm going in the right direction. have a 9a meeting on Monday with the VP and COO to present it so that'll be fun
 
anyway I am currently enjoying a beer* while rocking boy to sleep and this is about as close to zen as I've felt in a while

*Trillium apparently distributes to Charlotte now? I sprung on this 4 pack of Summer Street as soon as I saw it the other day without realizing it was THIRTY TWO GODDAMN DOLLARS but it is admittedly pretty tasty
 
Finally made it back to Cairo and am now enjoying the caprese salad that was left in my room about 6 hours ago but I’m hungry and tired so it’s delicious
