Spiders I can stand, unless it's some big fucking spider. Snakes just scare the shit out of me, no matter what kind of snake it is. Bees freak me out, I wish they would all just fucking die. One of my worst fears is laying in my room at night and all the sudden just hear a buzzing noise and it's a goddamn bee in my room. I don't particularly care for someone chasing me either, it always makes me feel very nervous.

With the tight spaces thing, I've never had an issue with that. I guess maybe because I had a medical issue when I was younger and had to have a lot of MRI's, so I got used to it. Also, I'm not scared at the idea of heights, but you would never catch me on the Grand Canyon or some other such structure where if you fall you die.

needles
deep water
odd numbers- not really scared, just hate them

I see you. Big baby with needles. Informs my decision to be scared of snakes - THEY HAVE NEEDLES IN THEIR MOUTHS!

I also hate odd numbers. Not a fear, but hate them passionately.

Deep water is pretty creepy, but not a deal breaker.

My claustrophobia is part of my disdain for herds of people. No interest in Times Square for New Years. Hell, I don't even like tight shirts or long hugs.

also- I wouldn't call this a phobia, really, but just something that makes me (and others too, I know) exceptionally uncomfortable. I can handle anything out in nature, across the room, at the zoo/behind glass, etc (which is what keeps it from being a phobia, where just the sight of it would freak someone out)... however, as soon as some big insect is ON me (little things are ok, like ladybugs, inchworms, small spiders, etc), it's over . I'm running and flailing like a madwoman and, like ITK, have been known to rip off clothing while driving a vehicle. Once a huge beetle flew through the window, ricocheted off the door frame, and I guess ended up behind me on the seat... i thought it was gone, but then 2min later it started crawling up my neck. i almost drove off the mountain.

I also HATE holding caterpillars.

Anonymous repper: Not a phobia, I just move around too much to do it comfortably.

Running in the dark with my headphones on and near woods also weirds me out. I read too many bigfoot stories :p

Other irrational fear: driving through dark, heavily wooded areas. I hate the way my headlights highlight the trees, and I'm convinced something/someone is going to stumble out on the road infront of me. Also, thanks to the promo for supernatural, I basically refuse to look in my rearview mirror on stretches of road like this (because there was that little ghost girl in the back seat).

Really, in any 'dark' situation my imagination just gets the best of me and I'm convinced something horrific is going to happen.

i don't mind spiders
can't stand snakes

my premise:
those that hate spiders - aren't bothered by snakes
those that hate snakes - aren't bothered by spiders

I'll subscribe to that theory. I have some freaky dreams hallucinations from time to time involving spiders and had some tarantula encounters while young and living in Texas.

Snakes.... Don't mind them a bit. I will give them a healthy bit of space if I don't know what they are, however. As a previous poster mentioned, I respect that they are potentially deadly in some cases, but this doesn't scare me very much.

being in the water near a bridge. I love driving over them in cars and riding under them in boats. but if I was in the water near one it would scare the hell out of me for some reason.

Driving on the interstate with a semi in the lane to my left...or being in the middle lane with a semi on either side of me. I know this stems from the car wreck on the way to work one morning on I-285 when a semi switched lanes and hit me. Makes me white-knuckled when I'm the one driving now and when I'm a passenger, I typically close my eyes until we get past it.

1. Heights
2. Big aggressive dogs
3. Dental procedures
4. Big hairy jumping spiders

Flying stinging insects

This. I can handle spiders, roaches, etc. but I hate bees and wasps. For some reason, wasps will come in my parents' house during the winter. They're really sluggish (I guess because it's cold) and probably wouldn't even sting you, but I will run away and find somebody else to come kill them for me...

Shots - it's not the needle I am afraid of (having blood drawn or even giving blood is fine), it's the injection
