God. Do you believe?

I believe you are referencing antitheists, a term my late hero coined for those (including myself) who are not only atheists but also adamantly opposed to the idea of some anthropomorphic invisible tyrant convicting us of arbitrary thought crime without granting us free will. One could also be anti-religion in general (whether theistic or atheistic) because he or she sees it as an overall negative influence on the world (causing violence, unnecessary sexual repression, hindering progress, shielding people from reality, making people satisfied with not knowing, giving false comfort, etc)

Atheism (in the weak form at least) is simply lack of belief in any deities. Babies, Australian Aborigines, Homo Erectus, and at least 15% of the world's population are atheists by this definition. Many atheists are also apatheists, people who simply don't care whether gods exist or not. I would argue that most theists are also apatheists. Others are atheists but wish religion were true because they find it comforting but ultimately ridiculous.

How is it possible to prove babies are atheist. God allows free will that is the whole point of being a Christian and why some of you believe and some do not. You have the freedom to make a choice. If you had no choice but to believe in God you would not have free will and would not come to God on your own accord. Thus making the love and need for God false.

Do atheist just hope God does not exist?

I just believe it is an extremely huge gamble to hope that there is no God.

No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?

my statement was not incoherent so I do not know what you are getting at townie.

So we can choose whether to believe in the Sun? Or Gravity? Or Thin Mints?

Does that diminish our free will?

My will dictates what I do or don't do, say or don't say etc. What I believe is dictated by reason, logic, and my experience on Earth. There's no choice.

I can't choose to believe in God in the same way I can't choose to believe the street is clear before I cross it. What I can do is look at what I know and make an observation. So far nothing I know seems to indicate a God. In fact, there would have to be a lot of evidence pointing to that God for me to reconsider for the simple fact that it's so far removed from the world that I know. Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof.

This is entirely removed from how I feel about religions or religious people. Is that not reasonable?

Does it make you feel more like a man picking on someone who used your instead you're. Because you are a prick and I do not want to hear it. It is me being quick to type and careless nothing more.

But you are welcome to come educate me anytime you want. It takes a real man to call someone out on a message board.

This coming from the same guy who is accusing others with different viewpoints as being tools of Satan.

There has to be a reason why we are so different from every other animal. It has to be a reason for how things are and how they work. It just didn't happen on circumstance for no reason I fail to believe that. Many people who are not religious believe they were put here for a reason that has to come from somewhere. Aliens-Could be possible but I don't believe this. I believe in God and yes your assessment is reasonable, but there is so much that is unique to us and the world that seems an impossible chance that it just happened. How did people, animals, anything get a start did a planet just decided to grow them out of the blue one day? How did things so complex begin without some sorta thing or being to put it in motion?

If God appeared to everyone right now up in the sky and said I am real believe in me and have eternal life in heaven would you nonbelievers believe?

Serious question please give it a serious answer would you?

By doing this it negates the need for faith or free will. You know God is then real and you are going to heaven and live right and your not if you don't. People would feel forced to come to God or live eternity in hell. God does not want people to feel forced. This is my belief.

I had dream where God spoke to me two dreams actually I am mad at myself for forgetting one I was young, but the other I remember very well and it solidified my believe. It could have been guilt for something that made this dream happen, but at the time I had nothing on my mind that I had done that made me feel guilty.

Why is it a problem to be forced to spend eternity in total bliss? That sounds good to me.

do you belieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve in life after love?

So many ridiculous statements in this post I don't know where to start. But as for the bolded passage, that's never going to happen, so there's no reason to even consider it. People just don't appear in the sky to you unless you are on some serious drugs. Stuff like that doesn't happen, and it never happened. Nobody ever walked on water, nobody ever did any magic shit like that. It's a fantasy, it's a myth. How can a supposedly rational person believe in nonsense like this?

As for the dream part, dude, get real. People have dreams all the time. A specific dream can be triggered by any number of things. You became a believer after you had a dream where God spoke to you? I had a dream where I was fucking Scarlett Johansson, but that doesn't mean I believe that it really happened.

I'm curious what you think makes us "so different" and "unique" from other animals. Yes we (seem to) have more complex thoughts and actions, but most of what we do is no different than most animals. We sleep, seek food, fight for territory, build shelter for protection, and fuck to make more people.

Complex things did not start complex. Simple things evolved over time. The eye for example, began as light sensitive cells and evolved to an increasingly complex state over generations.

To be perfectly honest, you simply need to read and study something that is going to challenge your beliefs and advance your current level of knowledge. Dawkins and Hitchens are both good places to start. Read some books that explain evolution, philosophy, and religion (from a different point of view than your own). If you're afraid god will send you to hell for it and refuse, then there is nothing left to discuss. But if you are really interested in expanding your horizons and learning something, then read some material that goes against what you have been taught in Sunday school and will challenge your way of thinking.

I do not believe. But Conner is one of my favorite posters. So conflicted.

While we have no proof that it did occur other than 1000's of eye witness account over 1500 years, you have no proof that it did not or could not happen.

How do you explain all the things the Old Testament predicted and then it actually happening or have you never read it?

It's ok that you don't believe I accept that. I just want you to know God loves you and I hope that one day you will love him in return.
