This thread is about context

If this thread is about context, you have to be joking. We have A-10 talent and no depth. Travis is a very good player (could start anywhere), but needs someone to get him the ball, CJ is a nice player but probably a 6th or 7th man on a top ACC team (i.e. Taron Downey) and he's our best scorer. Chase will be a great player for us, but he's a freshman and too shy with the trigger.

TC is a decent point guard making progress, but not a very good shooter yet. CMM is going to make a huge difference as is a lot of depth.

Posters here so underestimate the importance of some depth (and we have none). We will be .500 in the conference next year. Mark it down.

Ok - if we have A10 talent, why are 12 of the 14 teams in the A10* better than us?

CJ is going to be all-ACC this year. He'd start just about anywhere.

I would be real surprised if Chase is ever more than a role player.

(*Yes the A10 has 14 teams.)

Wow. Can't believe that quote. Amazing what ridiculous things people will say to defend [Redacted]. How many A-10 teams have two All-ACC grade players? One maybe.

The lack of depth falls squarely on [Redacted]'s shoulders.

Rethink that tbr. We had a 5 man class in 10 and lost 2. We had a lot of 12 kids interested in us that we wanted so we decided to put out money there. We can't go juco but we did go after a number of 1 ye bigs who graduated but had a year of eligibility. We lost on all of them so you can hammer bzd on that. Maybe a 11 big or two. And thank god for that

I'm sure you're not actually saying that TBR needs to rethink his statement that the lack of depth is Bzdoofus's fault, but just in case you are...

Not this one. A Coach is responsible for an entire program. In year 2, if there is a gaping hole NOT due to injury, then you're responsible. It was Bzd and staff that decided that they were content with Carson, Ty, Tabb, Nikita, Green, and McKie at the 4 and 5 going into next year.

I expect 15 wins next year. I'll be disappointed with anything less.

I do think we decided to sacrifice depth this year for talent next. But yes, it does fall on Bzd and you caught me talking out both sides of my mouth

seriously. it's a bit spooky. I can't even remember if I typed that before Tabb was kicked out or after ... what did he type in the search? Tabb? 15?

As of March 1 2011, we had 4 scholarships to use for depth. Bz took on 3 players and only one of them plays significant minutes. That's why it's on him.

And, arguably, we should have had 5 scholarships to use for depth.

Ok, I agree we only have Patriot League talent. Chase will be a solid player for us (my fault for saying great, just trying to be positive and build up his confidence if he happens to read this. Hoops is all about confidence and there are a lot of jack arses on here that don't help in that regard).

8 Acc wins next year. Mark it down!

If I recall, the Bone was also our resident Buzzzzinner that said last year after our Stetson, etal losses that we shouldn't judge bzzz until mid February to see if he could coach. While we were on our way to a 1 win acc season and confronted with this, the bone then said we had to wait until feb of 2012 so we could see what he did with his first recruiting class.

Wake very clearly has more than Patriot League talent. Are you shitting me right now?

Dude, I agree but No Stonz says we don't have A-10 talent. Read his post. Who am I to disagree with internet bullies who want to take down Buzz and the program? He's correct, clearly.

Any rational person would agree we should have waited beyond one game to see how to judge the team and the coach. Don't be an ass.

I don't really understand what you guys are arguing over.

Wake has more than A-10 talent and much closer to ACC talent (considerably more talent than BC). The reason he was correcting you was that even if we have A-10 talent (which we clearly have more talent than) we're still behind 12/14 teams in the league. You then said "okay we have Patriot League talent". I don't understand where you're coming from.

Wait 'til next year and you might see ACC talent. 2 or 3 players with ACC talent is not ACC talent. We have a team that can't compete because of lack of depth.

That's a garbage excuse, most good teams in the country tighten up to a 7 man rotation. Wake also has roughly the same amount of talent this year that Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Clemson have. We might all be lacking ACC talent under this definition, but Wake shouldn't be a bottom half team in the country with a lock for an All-ACC team on the roster and a fringe All-ACC player as the second best player. That's absurd.

I've played in rec leagues and you need 8 even there. Do we have 8 ACC players? All I can say is watch what happens when we do.
