What should we do with rep?

How's deeze votes get counted? Keep it v change it straight up or does indifferent count with keep it? Or will the mods just keep it if it's not a landslide?

I'm not voting until I know, because I can be bought.

Can we vote on how the votes are counted?

My thought would be Change it vs.( Keep it + 1/2(indifferent))
 
I've left some private messages in anonymous poes reps which I would NOT want to be revealed.
 
if someone leaves a neg rep bad enough to get deleted, like the one about that dudes friends getting killed in the car accident, then they should be warned or temp banned or whatever, and that should be posted in the disclosure forum. If a rep is so bad it has to get deleted, then that person should have to own up publicly or AT LEAST to the person they repped.

If it doesn't get deleted, then fuck it, keep it anonymous. But somehow that one got deleted by a mod so that ain't kosher.

I dont really rep that often and don't really care about my rep either. Voted indifferent.

But I think doing non-anon rep, especially neg rep, will lead to posters neg repping someone who repped them as retribution. I see public rep turning into a giant rep battle between posters. Good luck if it happens. Due to my first statement above, I'm for getting rid of it but understand if people really want it.

Again, I find it more likely that the neg repper simply chooses to take the grown-up route and not leave an insulting comment at all.
 
To me, this is just asking for more intense feuds. Neg rep, in total, will likely decline, as many people will refrain due to lack of anonymity. The proverbial "neg rep pussies" will disappear, but we're just going to create a new problem.

With public rep, I expect that the majority of neg rep will be returned (i.e Poster A negs Poster B for a certain post, then Poster B searches for a post from Poster A to negrep to return the favor). This is setting up for back-and-forth rep battles, which won't be good for anyone. Neg rep pussies will simply be replaced by neg rep retaliators.

I strongly disagree with your second point. I fully expect most neg rep to be returned.
 
No, my comment was that the initial neg rep pussy is less likely to leave that initial douchey rep if he knows his name will be attached. So the neg rep battle never occurs at all.
 
I hate anonymous negreps, but wouldn't want all rep to be public.

I anonymously negrep sometimes, but rarely do I negrep in the first place.

I use rep for pos rep mostly

Just a thought on the voting. I could see a lot of people not wanting to vote to keep them anonymous because it groups them in the crowd being called a pussy. Maybe the voting shoulda been anonymous?

Is it possible to only allow comments on pos rep? Limit neg rep to only being an anonymous neg rep with no comment? Think this solves most issues.
 
Rep is awesome but doesn't make any sense if it's public. People ultimately get the rep they deserve. And anyone who really cares about their rep should be negrep stalked constantly anyway.
