North Carolina is Awesome

I wouldn't say "middle of no where" but it's all relative. To me, living in Winston/GSO is a lot farther from things. Where my parents live is 15 min from Philly, 45 minutes from the shore, 1.5h to NYC, 2ish to Baltimore, 2.5 to DC, 1h to the mountains, etc. And Palma went to HS close to me so I see where he's coming from.

I can't for the life of me figure out why I would want to go to NYC, Baltimore, or DC enough for it to matter how close they are.

Different strokes for different folks, plainly.

1. Outer Banks - Cape Hatteras, Wilmington, Kill Devil Hills
2. Food - Barbecue, Cookout, Bojangles, Krispy Kreme
3. NC Mountains - Asheville, Nantahala & French Broad, Biltmore, Blowing Rock, Merlefest
4. Great Colleges to visit, party at - App, Wake, UNC, Duke, State, ECU
5. ACC Basketball
6. Charlotte - Nascar, Carowinds, Panthers Football, Concord Mills
7. Proximity to other bawse southern places - D.C., Richmond, Charlottesville, ATL, Myrtle, Charleston

There is nothing quite as lame as twats from Ohio trying to claim the birthplace of flight as their home state. It didn't happen in Ohio, did it? The Wright brother cunts just happened to come out of their mother's vagina there. That isn't a fucking accomplishment, Ohio.

Flight originated in North Carolina; end of story. I'm not even from this fucking state and I realize that. Some other state trying to elbow their way into mattering when it comes to flight is just pathetic. Shows how little Ohio actually has going on for itself. At least Illinois has Presidents that were awesome. Ohio just has a stupid chant and marching band that thinks "dotting an I" is some sort of meaningful celebration. It's not. It's just some fat fuck carrying a tuba running out ahead of other fat fucks standing still. Who is honestly impressed by this? People from Ohio. And that's it.

Just brag about how you are connected to a Great Lake or something. Ohio is just terrible. What a worthless state.

North Carolina isn't much better. So many bigoted cunts here. But that's another rant for another day.

lol you're kidding, right? You don't know why people would regularly want to go to the greatest city in the world, one of the most powerful cities in the world or a very underrated city for a weekend/day trip????

I love DC, don't care for NYC, and I've never been to Baltimore, but I've seen a few episodes of The Wire.

um..why hasn't cookout been mentioned on this thread yet? yes you can get it elsewhere now but NC is its home and they are much more accessible in NC than other states.

only downfall to NC are the bigots and Tarheel fans....so really just Tarheel fans

The Chadbourn Chamber of Commerce concurs.

Just doesn't excite me. I have been a couple of times. It is ok. Hard to be surrounded by so many people in such a crappy mood enthralled with how wonderful a place that drives them crazy everyday is.

I also hated London when I visited. I guess I'm not a big city kind of guy. Feel claustrophobic.

In Blowing Rock right now. Add Woodland's BBQ to the list of things that make NC awesome. Oh, and DemonDKE (God rest his soul) is buried here. Right under the new Charlotte 49ers football stadium, I believe.

whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa

don't dare compare NJ to NC again

What? I'm not. I'm explaining that considering something to be "close" is a relative term. Whether you're interested in the beach/mountains/those cities or not, if you grow up in that area you're going to feel like a 4 hour drive to the beach is a longass time.

The shore =\= the beach, so your drive to the beach was longer anyway.

Yeah basically once you get past the OB they all suck. Why would anyone consider DE a beach destination? But I grew up on the FL Panhandle so I'm a huge beach snob, though I always did enjoy visiting the NC beaches as a kid.

Dang, I have taken flak for talking about Ohio before, but never called a bigoted cunt. Yer rep was funny though. I just said they deserve a share of the credit. Ohio doesn't have too much to offer, especially not compared to a great state like NC. It has Cedar Point, the Toledo Art Museum, and I happen to like Columbus.

Anyway, yea I prefer NC to OH, so I'm not gonna get into this further. (For those who don't know, I'm a closet tOSU fan, born in Columbus medical center, my father is a prof there.)

Here are some things about NC I greatly enjoy

The city of Asheville
- West Asheville
- Restaurants
- Mountains of all various shapes and sizes
- Breweries (and more awesome ones coming)

The city of Boone
- Going to an App game is fun. Good tailgate, fun team to watch.
- Ladies love them outlets
- Great mountain biking, also some good golf
- Blue Ridge Parkway access

I was gonna go C (Charlotte) and D (Durham), but I'm too lazy. Suffice to say, I have a ton of friends all over the state of NC, and most all of them seem to have sweet setups in fun cities. NC rules.

Correct. Proximity to those cities doesn't appeal to me.

maryland people, we are sorry that baltimore is the flagship city in maryland, but please don't try to convince us it doesn't suck
