The 2012 Official MLB Baseball Thread (Mother's basement edition)

So. If I buy tickets to see Strasburg/Lee tonight what are my odds of actually seeing lee pitch for philly? >85% ? This Justin Upton rumor has to be bogus.

Pretty sure Vizcaino was a guy the Astros wanted for Bourn last year, but instead we got a pile of shit. Thanks Ed Wade.

the nature of pitching prospects, good one year done the next. Viz is coming off TJ, like cheese said. All those Braves pitchers stock took a hit this year.

Although their lower level arms have taken big steps forward, which makes it a lot easier for Wren to give up Viz.

@ThomasBoswellWP
If Braves get 30-yr-old LHer Paul Maholm (62-79, 4.30 ERA), they just added the equivalent of the Nats (AAA) John Lannan, 27, (39-51, 3.99).

lol Boz!!

Well, thats a little misleading, but not untrue. Maholm is riding a hot streak, which is normally what people look for - he is 5-0 in his last 6 starts with a 1.00 ERA - 3 of those starts against teams with winning records (Cards, Braves, Bucs) and 2 against NL East foes (Miami, Mets).

zips has him a quarter run betetr per nine for the rest of the season. he's a better pitcher.

reports are Josh Lindblom & an un-named second player to the Phillies for Shane Victorino.

With him and Sheets the Bravos have two guys that seem to by hot right now. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. From their standpoint anything is better than Jergens

anytime you can trade your starting centerfielder for a homer prone reliever with 93% strand rate on the season you have to do it.

What are the chances that the Phillies can't field a team tonight? Should I bring my glove?

It takes a real special pitcher to have a homer prone rep in Dodger Stadium.

Don't do it, Rube.

Not much left for the Phils to trade - Pence is probably staying with Victorino going - no one wants to pick up Lee's salary and the Reds have apparently moved on from Pierre.

Don't forget Mike Minor. At least 6 innings and less than 2 ER in each of his last 4 starts.

Victorino supposedly asking for a 6/$85 deal in the offseason. Not sure he gets that many years.

Anyone who Victorino even $10M/should have their head examined. He has the 13th best OPS for a CF according to ESPN.

My guess is it was closer to $25M than $15M. but even $25M for three years is the outside.

What have you done with RJKarl? RJKarl would never cite a statistic that is not RBIs for position players or W's for pitchers.
