What I don't get in the LIV "business model" is why are you buying all this talent just to dump it into a crappy exhibition format? People watch sports for the competition more than appreciation of pure athletic performance

I think perhaps the best example of the "passionate fan bases" in the SEC -- is South Carolina ... they rarely win, but they fill that stadium and parking lot up every home weekend.

I think key here is that it's not necessarily the quality of the football that is driving the better brand ... what the SEC has as every level, despite the quality of the team and more than other conferences, is deep pageantry / tradition, strong historical rivalries, and passionate fan bases...

I'm in Atlanta, so perhaps I am overly excited about seeing the Deacs in my hometown every other year. I will say as far as GT being down - I don't think it will be forever. Geoff Collins may not be the guy, but they will make the changes to build the program.

I agree. Playing the teams in our current division was getting very boring. while I would like annual games with UNC and NCSU, at least in this model we will get interesting (at least to me) match ups like Miami and UVA. Add in some potential OOC games against Pac-12 / Big-10 teams in future...
