17 moments in 2013 that reminded us why we love sports

Just watched the Boston Bruins national anthem for the first time since last April. If that doesn't bring you to the edge of tears then I do not know what will.

BTW, we need to bring some kids in from Baptist Hospital to score some TD's every spring game, every year.

The outcome sucked, but the NBA Finals this year were awesome.

I guess I'm a bad person but I'm really suffering from "Boston fatigue"....

Love Teddy the Reds Bat Boy - reminds you the simple joys of sports....

Favorite moments:

1. Being in despair, and expecting to get a mountain-sized amount of shit talking from y'all (as well as the blue collared, wood workin' spurs fans), Jesus Shuttleworth saved the day (and the championship) with his game 6 shot.
2. Newton to Ginn on MNF. Newton to Hixon a few days ago.
3. The entire Atlanta Braves summer, especially the two big win streaks. Glad that order was restored when it came to who was at the top of the NL East.
4. Phil Mickelson going absolutely bananas on British Open Sunday, leaving all communist euro sympathizers with their jaws on the ground.
5. The Dave Clawson/Coaching search thread.
6. The Mr. and Mrs. Enfield thread.
7. Watching college football in the Vegas sportsbooks with my dad while battling one of the worst hangovers of my life.

Favorite moment of 2013:
The first 47 minutes and 45 seconds of Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Least favorite moment of 2013:
The last 15 seconds and overtime.

For me nothing says "so close yet so far away" more than 2013 Detroit sports.

Nah, I have it as well. I hate everything BAHSTON these days.

But that video gave me the chills. Of course the Boston Marathon bombing probably affected me more than others, so that has something to do with it.

Yeah. The Red Wings blow it up.

i don't really follow the red wings or pistons, the two more recently successful franchises, haha

they aren't perfect comparisons, for sure, but it feels like it sometimes

mostly it's a lot of talent with just awful coaching

I'm pretty sure any Wake fan would leap at the chance at a championship in a major sport. It sucks to fall short of expectations when rooting for a team, but that doesn't make it analogous to being a Wake fan.
