The video from this is insane. For so many cars to wreck with such velocity and only one truck driver died, its remarkable. Included in the wreck was an 18 wheeler carrying 40k lbs of fireworks which went up in flames and a tanker carrying hazardous materials.

Yet, northerners won't hesitate to mock Southerners for having difficulty driving on ice.
 
Crazy - I wonder if one of those big rigs was filled with pyrotechnics.
 
If only there were a description.
 
On another board, the firefighters said that there was a layer of ice/freezing rain under the layer of snow. The drivers all thought it was your typical snow pack, and drove as they normally would. Once they had to slam on brakes, what traction they were expecting was painfully absent. Watching those 18 wheelers plow into the pack like that turns my stomach.
