I'm sure most know, but Speith's caddy is from the Pacific NW and used to work Chambers Bay all the time. I assume that he gives him a huge leg up.

I think it helps a bit, but he never caddied it in conditions remotely resembling what they are playing in now with the exception of the 2010 Amateur.
 
If Bubba did like the course, I'm not sure he's going to anymore after the first hole. About to make at least double after he bombed a drive in the fairway.

It was harder back then. Bone dry August weather. Course was setup poorly and scoring average was close to 80.

Bubba is done. #prayfortedscott
 
So far I've seen wedges and short irons stopping quickly if they fly onto the green. I think the USGA dumped water on the course last night to be safe. Expect some low scores today and by Sunday it's going to be insanely firm.

Absolutely, his name seems to be on a lot of leaderboards this year, even though he hasn't won this year.
 
This looks so much like a British Open. Rory just teed off wearing a jacket, the brown fairways, the heather off the fairways, no trees in sight, odd for a US Open. Here's hoping it ends up being an exciting tournament and not a run away like Kaymer's win last year.
