Was talking about this last night with my FSU buddy and he thinks they turn to Taggert, Pruitt or Frost. Pruitt makes the most sense to me out of that list and would be a really good hire IMO.
FSU seems like a better gig than A&M
Would Taggert leave Oregon after one season? Oregon is a pretty good job I think, facilities and resources, recent history of being a national power and maybe an easier road to the playoffs out of the PAC-10? Of course I know he made his name at USF, so he has ties to the area.
In Playoff era, hard to disagree. $$ of course being the great counterweight to this argument.FSU seems like a better gig than A&M
He's from FL as well.
I'm calling Sumlin to UCF after Frost leaves for Nebraska.
Have heard that some think Sumlin is headed to Arizona State.
Oregon is not the type of program that would sign a coach, and then have him leave the next year. Would think Taggart to FSU (or UF) would only happen if he has specific clause allowing Taggart to go to FSU (or UF). Jimbo flirted with LSU; only to stay at FSU after the Noles sweetened the pot; not sure if FSU will be as apt to sweeten the pot after a 5-6 season, but in the end, wouldn't be shocked to see Jimbo decide to stay in Tallahassee.
Tennessee is such a clown show. Most of the dopes in the fanbase sought to use the "Sandusky" connection to torpedo the Schiano hiring, thinking they were entitled to a better coach. Schiano built Rutgers (who returned to their irrelevant role after he left) to a bowl and top 25 regular (6 bowls in their last 7 years). TN is, at best, the 5th (and probably closer to 7th or 8th) best program in the SEC. The TN fanbase is as responsible for the state of the program as anything else.

Here in Knoxville I have a front row seat to the comedy. I think you need to factor in the bible belt, conservative, reactionary composition of the fan base in their horror with Schiano. There is very real moral outrage with the Penn State thing not that they don't think they could get Saben if they tried.
