That Metro division is legit! My Jackets can't make up any ground because the Caps and Rangers keep winning. They went 10-1-1 for the month of December and only gained 1 point in the standings.
 
Jimmy Howard just gave up a dumb goal and hurt himself badly in the process. Doesn't look good - stretcher is on the ice.
 
I am trying real hard not to get too excited about this Capitals team but it's hard.

Rangers are insane. They've won 13 of 14 (11 in regulation), including a West Coast sweep this week (@ Anaheim, LA, SJ). They're 5 points out of pole position with three games in hand on the Isles, their opponent on Tuesday night.
 
Yeah...lots of talk early about how there was only one good team in the metropolitan. That doesn't seem to be the case now.

First time since 1985 the Caps and Wiz have been over .500 on Jan. 15.

Every 30 years DC teams don't suck. Sounds about right
