Kane winning the golden boot with 3 penalties and a deflected shot that he knew nothing about is pretty comical. He had a crap WC post the group stages and never got himself involved in any build up play.

Yeah, penalties shouldn't count toward golden boot awards. Kane was straight garbage in the knockout rounds.
 
Don’t feel like France was much better than Croatia today but do feel like they had the best overall tournament and deserved to win it. Outside of Giroud, a pretty likeable bunch.

There were stretches where he carried his team and stretches where he completely disappeared and you wouldn’t have noticed him if you didn’t already know to look for him. Much like Messi 4 years ago, and like then this feels more like a lifetime achievement award than an award for best player over the last month.
