2019 College Basketball Coaching Carousel

The carousel spins and wake is still a 4th rate shit hole. F U ronnie.

Chris Beard signed a 6 year extension at $4.75M a year.

Wonder if there is a buy-out clause exemption for Texas (Beard went to Texas; he was team manager at TX when the man with perm - Tom Penders - coached). In March, heavy speculation swirled when it appeared that Shaka and Texas might part ways that Texas was going to go all-in for Beard.

Didn't see anything on Texas, specifically... But $3mil for non-Big 12 school / $6mil for a move intra-conference.

Interesting. From Texas Tech's perspective the Big 12 Buyout clause only concerns Texas (and possibly Kansas); Beard isn't leaving to go to TCU, West Virginia or Iowa State. The problem is that Texas can pay $6 million without blinking.

In the near term, that's a big check to rid themselves of Shaka AND hire Beard.

Not to mention that I suspect Beard would want a significant pay raise to jump ship to Texas... Seems like he has it pretty good at Texas Tech.

It would also be interesting to see what bonuses he can get and what his shoe money will be.

Presti wishy washy on Eddie Munster returning to OKC. Seems the ball is in Donovan's court ...

What is his buyout?

Other than apparently RJ, no one is stupid enough to think that Billy Donovan is coaching WF next year or any year in the future.

Sorry, but he is not going to go from coaching Russell Westbrook and Paul George to Ody Oguama and Sunday Okeke. Ever.
