Another low risk move with a decent ceiling.
 
Wanted to draft Hood in the 6th or 7th last year. Interesting pickup. Former #2 RB in the country in HS out of Charlotte Catholic. Should have gone to ND as he originally planned. Was pretty criminally underutilized at UNC and had to compete for time/touches with TJ Logan.
 
Also would be cheaper than Fozzy and cutting Fozzy would free up $1.2mm and no dead money on the cap
 
Although a Heel, I always felt he was an NFl-type bruiser and wanted to draft him last year.
 
Torn ACL for Fozzy in practice. That's probably a career-ender for him.
 
Peyton announced as potential part of Navarro ownership group yesterday, now Navarro apparently out today. Maybe a hail mary by them to try and stay in the running with some good PR?

Woulda been alright with Navarro, good to have some local ties. Sounds like it's gonna be the Steelers minority owner

I thought Tepper was already out and it was down to Navarro and the Canadian?
 
Yeah. Seems like a good move to have an owner with existing ties to a great franchise.

Just going to throw out this bio in case Tepper wants to bring in a GM he knows. A lot of experience, but he's a New Orleans guy. Born there, went to Tulane, worked for the Saints after college.
