Giving the Manning contract debacle, at the time WF landed Forbes, think the athletic department and the general counsel were little skittish about entering into a long expensive contract with a basketball coach that was moving up a level. Also, WF was the only Power V opening in the 2020 off-season; so, WF had all of the leverage in the world. Forbes could take the WF offer, or continue coaching at ETSU for a fraction of that. Leverage has now changed. There will be a ton of high-profile openings, and Forbes has demonstrated that he can build a program at light speed. So, WF either has or will need to sweeten the pot. We have a world-class AD, and donors willing to spend. Forbes will be taken care of. He isn't leaving unless a uber-elite program makes an offer than no one could refuse. Not going to happen this year, but don't think its going to be long before everyone knows Forbes is the best of the best at building a program.
