4k Video Editing Software

We have a GoPro10 and have shot a ton of video in 4k. We have PCs and are looking for a 4K capable video editing software. Free is great, but if worth it, wouldn't mind fronting some $$ for the right software. What do you use and recommend?

The videos would be eventually uploaded to a YouTube Channel or socials.

Will it allow you to splice and edit the videos? We've uploaded full videos, but haven't tried to combine nor edit them. Our main issue is that we don't have a 4k player on the PC, so we can hear the audio but can't see the picture.

Very good question that I'll need to check. It's a Chrome book that is just a few months old. Not sure if it's capable.

From a little googling I think I figured out your problem - GoPro will download videos in an HEVC file type and Chrome does not support that codec.

Reaper does video as well as audio as far as I know. Free trial period, but still fully functional after the trial period.
