Very sad. Douglas had an interesting, brief career. Both parents were athletes at UT, and he made freshman all-America as an OT under Kiffin. Requested a transfer when Kiffin was fired, saying he needed to go far from home. Instead of the standard "no future opponents" release, Dooley gave him a release to any school 8 hours away from Knoxville. Douglas went JUCO in Arizona instead of signing with a school under those conditions. In a signing day surprise this year, Douglas signed with Alabama, which pissed everyone in Knoxville off, including his parents. He also started a rap career and has several youtube videos. Douglas was found dead this morning.

Interesting to find this out on the wake boards but not shocked at all. It was universally known at UT that Douglas was the biggest pill head on the planet and was taking thousands of dollars a month in pain pills. Whole school knew but his parents were in denial and he never got any help. Dooley wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Sad in light of Erik Ainge's recent acknowledgment of his problem and his road to recovery. This kid could have been a beast.
