COMING WEDNESDAY: 2014 #ACCFB schedule will be released at 3pm here: http://theacc.co/FB14schedule What matchup are you most looking forward to?

I figured I'd go ahead and start this thread now and whenever the schedule comes out we can discuss the specifics.

My understanding of our ACC opponents:

Home
Boston College
Clemson
Syracuse
Virginia Tech

Away
Duke
Florida State
Louisville
NC State

At Utah State
At ULM
rumored to be Western Carolina
Someone else at home?

Army at home.

We start @ULM, ???, @USU, Army. Really hope that ??? is WCU or at least BC at home.

Maybe 4 winnable conference games? Va. Tech certainly wasn't a world beater this year, but we never seem to fair well with them. Clemson, FSU, and Louisville would be pretty huge upsets.

Gardner Webb is the FCS opponent.

Really, I was kind of hoping for Western, if for no other reason than just to play somebody different. We played Gardner Webb pretty recently didn't we?

Gimme wins: None
Possible wins: BC, Cuse, @State
Upset potential: @Duke, VT
Doubtful: @Clemson, @Louisville, @FSU

Formula remains the same. Win 3 non-con and 3 winnable ACC games and we make a bowl.

One of those at's needs to be a home.
Edit: it's Clemson. Not that it'll likely matter in the competitive sense.

8 bowl teams in 12 games. As things stood on the day the season ended, WF would be favored in only 2 games (G-W and Army). Cuse and BC at home would be close to a pick. The Deacs would have been a slight dog at ULM and State and a big dog against everyone else. Think that I would put the O/U on wins at 3.5 right now. Hope for a surprise.

We brought the Claw in because he's a turnaround specialist. Everybody left on the roster is starting at square one, and few have a positive rep going into the spring. We could win anywhere from 1 to 7 games.

Exactly. Even further stated, we brought in Claw because we couldn't trust the previous staff to get more than 3.5 wins. Don't burden him with the same low standard. A coach is supposed to do difficult things.

I'd rather not play a service academy. We seem to have two or three OOC staples that we just recycle. Service academies usually fill one of those spots. I don't know who I'd rather play, but I'd certainly like to see us mix it up a little.
