It appears that is the case. Interesting move all things considered. Certainly fan support is superior at PSU. I would have thought Miami was considered the better football program.

I'll choose to thank Grobe for his timing and helping Wake Forest get a head in our coaching search process. He took both the honorable path and helped Wake Forest move on. If he had waited that would have hurt us both in recruiting and being among these other coaching searches and the corresponding waterfall effect.

Al Golden to stay at Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Miami coach Al Golden said Sunday he is not a candidate for any other job, ending days of silence and speculation about his future with the Hurricanes.

Golden's statement did not specifically mention Penn State, his alma mater, which reportedly targeted him as a top candidate to replace Bill O'Brien as coach. University officials had no other immediate comment, though athletic director Blake James said throughout the process he was confident Golden would remain with the school.

"He's staying," James said Sunday.
