Alabama football salaries

so the position coaches make less than third string punters.

We spent $8mm last year. That's for every coach in the athletic department. Men's and Women's.

This is why the SEC will not be knocked down from their perch atop the college football world anytime soon.

Considering the cost of living in Alabama is quite low, those assistants are living the high life.

Two of those coaches Clemson couldn't afford. Quite a gap between the top tier football powers and the rest.....

I am experiencing the counter to the COL argument right now. Because of the tax structure, you're right in that their cost of living is low because property tax is basically non-existent, and housing prices are lower proportionately to other areas of the country, but the universal 9% sales tax and the rest of costs (food and otherwise is the exact same or higher). So for those of us lucky enough to rent (*cough*), COL was actually cheaper (relative to what most people make anyway) in Philadelphia.

At $54,000 per student we should do better than $8mm for our entire athletic department. Cut RW's salary, lord knows he hasn't earned his paycheck the past three years...
