Alphonso Smith, hurt?

I went to the orthopedic specialists off Kimel Park Dr yesterday to have a cast put on after my foot surgery 2 weeks ago. Walking out I see a guy filling out paperwork while standing next to some crutches, wearing matching blue athletic gear. After getting a better look I realized it was none other than our own Alphonso (and confirmed that when he turned around and A.Smith was printed on the back of his shirt).

I have no idea what might have happened, from a glance he looked to be filling out paper work of the type you get when you first arrive, and he had no cast/wrap/anything on one foot, but was just wearing a sock and on crutches. I believe right foot. Anyone have a clue as to what might have happened to one of our own?

Either way, hope he recovers soon. Really want to see him giving QBs a reason to fear throwing to one side of the field again.
 
If he is hurt, he has over a year to get better.
 
He threaded his shoulder and went on IR last year. It may have been the reason he missed so many tackles in the Thanksgiving game ...

Yeah.. but it was very obviously his foot. Read: you don't need crutches for your shoulder. In fact, it would probably really suck to use crutches on a bum shoulder.

doubtful. I too would be surprised if Phonz walked around in a Lions jersey all off season to remind himself of who he is.

He posts on here sometimes, so maybe he'll respond with a shhhhhh, don't want the Lions to know I fucked up my ankle playing pickup basketball, or damn son, we all look alike to you or what????
 
It was absolutely our own A.Smith. I know what he looks like, I've met him in person several times. He wasn't wearing a jersey, it was an underarmor style tight fitting longsleeve shirt, shorts, and shoes, all matching lions blue. Idk, maybe he'd been working out here and got hurt.

All I know is that it definitely WAS him, and he definitely WAS on crutches. That is why I came to the all-knowing board to see if anyone knew something about why he might be hurt. But instead I get wise-ass jaybone telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, thanks dude.
 
Shhhhh...I dont want the Lions knowing I've hurt my ankle!....damn son

your welcome and sorry to offend. I wish Phonz didn't walk around wearing his own name on the back of his shirt, underarmour or not. Very distateful. I wouldn't put the name of my son on his shirts when I send him to summer camp. Too lame. To think of a grown man with his name on the back of his shirt, and for it to be Phonz.

Consider my world is rocked. Don't know if I'm up or down. Is it morning? Or night?
 
Update. Friend plays cards with Phons regularly. According to him, he hurt himself working out the other day and broke his foot, explaining the orthopedic specialists visit rather than a trainer, etc. Also explaining the matching workout outfit with his name on it. I thought it was odd seeing him in public with that as well, but if he came straight from a workout it makes more sense.

Most of this post is accurate except not completely broken, just a stress fracture. He's been out for two weeks but will be back on the field in another two weeks.

Nothing anyone should be worried about he says.
 
Good news. Foot stress fractures are tricky though... I had one turn into a full break through nothing more than normal athletic activity, and had to have surgery to really get it fixed :/ That's why I was at the ortho specialists that day, getting a cast on. There are a ton of different kinds of breaks though so hopefully his injury is nothin. Glad to hear it, though.
 
Did Tony Chennault have a stress fracture in his foot, or his leg? Whichever it was, it turned into a break pretty soon after Buzz played him.

I don't see how that explains him wearing his own name on the back of his shirt. I work out and I don't have to wear my name on the back of my jersey so as to identify myself to the my fellow gym bums.

The only thing that makes sense is that he is paid by underarmour to wear their stuff and his contract stipulates that he must wear the product whenever he engages in anything resembling physical activity.
