another perspective on the ND game

As much as we like to complain about Wake coaches who don't win ACC championships every year, and Ron Wellman, this is testimony to the integrity of Wake's entire athletic program.

Kudos to Ron Wellman and to an administration that keeps its priorities straight.

The tragedy is that this statistic will get about .00000001% of the media attention that Bama-LSU will get, a match between two football factories for whom academics is about signing the paycheck.

Coach Winters: "Yeah, but when was the last time 80,000 people showed up to watch a kid do a damn chemistry experiment?

Just kidding of course but that quote from "The Program" always cracked me up and summarized the problem with the football factories. Money talks

Good find. I hope our recruiters are armed with this info. Might not impress the kid but sure to impress mom and dad.

The Brainy Bowl

The schools that have the biggest percentage of varsity teams with perfect Graduation Success Rate scores:
School Perfect Teams Percent
1. Notre Dame 18 of 22 82%
2. Wake Forest 11 of 14 79%
3. Boston College 19 of 25 76%
4. Stanford 19 of 29 66%
5. Duke 13 of 22 59%
6. Northwestern 11 of 19 58%
7. Rice 6 of 12 50%
7. Vanderbilt 6 of 12 50%

Interesting that we have played all but one of these teams multiple times in the last 15 years and have Rice on the schedule.

It's also worth pointing out that we have two more varsity sports than Vanderbilt and 2,500 fewer undergraduate students.

Looks like the makings of a new conference: The Big IQ Conference

Money talks and so we tee it up at 8 PM. Oh well, at least it is not a Thursday night.
