Dan Collins is retiring from W-Journal on 8/31.

Scott Hamilton wants to become the Wake beat writer.

If you all haven't noticed he was in the 100 or so laid off in March/April.

He has Wake institutional knowledge and an established working relationship with Wake coaches, players & administrators.

He votes in the weekly AP FB poll & is a Heisman voter.

I would encourage you all to write the Journal at the emails listed below and express your support for Scott as Beat Writer for Wake.

Thanks

Andy Morrissey--managing editor

Alton Brown--new publisher

Adam Houston --acting sports editor

My order of interest is:

1. John Dell (if he wants it)
2. Strelow

Scott after that. And then if it's none of those three go hire someone else. None of the younger group.

Both turned the job down recently

He is the man for the job.

I think if they go outside it's Les. Doubt John wants the gig and who knows with strelow. Don't think they'll go with Scott. Nothing against him just doesn't seem like the right fit

I've always enjoyed Hamilton's work. Especially when it came to basketball. Very honest in his writing.
