Looking for something new to do for Mrs. Denver's birthday next month. We were in Portugal (Porto and Lisbon) last Christmas and really enjoyed it. The Algarve area looks beautiful, but is a pain to get to. However, it is crazy cheap once you get there. Check out these places on the beach for around $40/night.

Anyhow, just curious if anybody has been and could enlighten me as to if it is worth the effort to get down there?

Thanks

Denver

I have been, but I don't really remember enough to give any legitimate recommendations.

I remember the beach was crowded, but if we swam around a cliff, we ended up on a completely secluded beach with awesome caves. There were lots of Irish bars and lots of tourists, but I suppose the latter depends on the season. I went in midsummer.
