I think the biggest consideration for your daughter is what she wants to do post-college. If she's content with a BA/BS and plans to get a job that doesn't require a degree beyond that, and especially if she plans to stay in the southeast, App is a fine choice.
If she wants or needs more education, then depending on the field/degree, she'll basically have to be at the top of her class to have a chance of getting into a solid grad program. I am highly skeptical of the claim that going to App is a "cheap and easy way to get into an elite grad program." I would say that the biggest drawback with App is the LACK of opportunity to move on to an elite grad school. She's going to be competing for a very small number of spots with kids from the Ivies, schools like Wake, etc., and other top undergrads.
It also depends on what kind of experience she wants. I grew up in a small town in a lower-middle class family and going to WF changed the trajectory of my life and career because I was surrounded by much smarter people who worked circles around me, at least starting out, which wouldn't have been true (or as true) at a place like App. Obviously not an issue for your daugher, but you can't put a price on that kind of thing.
