for real, news broke of it returning last month.

didn't know it was going to be on netflix though. interesting.
 
I can't help but think that after all this time it is going to suck. Really hope I'm wrong.

Netflix has made some bad (albeit ultimately necessary in some cases) decisions, but they'll make it. Streaming content is the future, and they have the best catalog of content currently.
 
heard they was also picking up the Event and another show which escapes me.

They got the rights to a new show called House of Cards. I think Kevin Spacey is involved. It seems Netflix wants to go the HBO original series route with some exclusive content.
