Ask The Pit: Darting a Lawn.

So, the girlfriend just moved into the home she is renting for the next year. She was under the impression that her landlord would have the lawn in better shape than it currently is when she moved in. Now that she is moved in, her landlord is refusing to help as he claims that she signed the lease for the house in its "as is" condition. Now, she is left to try and fix it up herself. I said I'd help, but I have no idea how to even begin. I'll be googling myself, but if anyone has any advice on how to dart up a lawn relatively quickly and economically, I'd really appreciate it.
