Hey, guys! Just checking the boards now. I DVR'd the Giles announcement so nobody spoil it for me!

I'm very glad that I don't have nearly as much emotion vested in an internet message board as some of you, regardless of whether you truly feel that way or its a show.

I know BSD's source, and I agree wholeheartedly with their decision to not reveal any more than they did. Doing so would have definitely put someone's job in jeopardy, and its not worth it to risk that for a group of keyboard warriors on an internet message board. I think its safe to say nobody would in any way, shape, or form be willing to stake their career on our little corner of the internet. While not the best delivery, they were willing to say what they could.

I appreciate kvegas and others who offer up information when they can. Will it ever be 100% correct, hell no, but at least they're willing to stick their neck out there to try and provide discussion to a group of people they'll probably never meet. Without their input, its one big chat thread and a discussion of what little scraps we receive from the local media (who also do a great job with what they've got). It's senseless to eat our own, but its been that way with the different incarnations of the boards as long as I can remember.

The information posted here is and always will be free. We rely on people to post what they know out of the goodness of their heart. You want to know why we dont have very many green super users left? This whole saga should answer that for you. If you want subscription quality information, Les over at Rivals, the folks at 24/7, and the folks at Scout would be happy to take your business.

"And go fuck yourselves you petulant little shits"

And that our coach is substantially better than he has yet shown.
The bball community seems to think that way....other coaches, recruits, analysts, etc. I think he's finding players that are better than their rankings would suggest as well but we'll see. We wouldn't have jumped from 124 to 60 in the Ken Pom rankings if he didn't think we're moving in the right direction on both fronts. It's a shame we missed on Giles.....Bz cost us that one....but I think we're going to be better than people think this year and will keep building momentum.

How KenPom determines pre-season rankings:

http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/entry/2016_preseason_ratings

Thanks. The rankings include player evaluation so our analytics must have improved quite a bit (relative to other teams). That's a good thing, yes?

Returning personnel is considered as well. Generally, the more players returning, the better. However, the quality of the player is also a factor. Losing a high-usage/high-efficiency player hurts a team’s offense a lot more than losing a role player.

Why are people pissed at dofus for sharing info he got?

Nobody is pissed at him for sharing info. People are annoyed that he tried to say that he couldn't write an article but he could post it here. If he had wrote an article on BSD that just said "Harry isn't coming to Wake" - it would be essentially the same thing as what he posted.

Could you imagine Andy Katz's editor saying, "hey Andy, you don't have that sourced well enough or it was given to us off the record so we can't publish" and then him turning around and posting it on a message board? Whether anyone knew it was Andy Katz posting would be immaterial - it would still be a major breach of journalism ethics.
