Well, unless Tatum wants to give SLU maximum exposure, he's definitely choosing Duke with the high profile announcement. If so, it obviously isn't a great sign for WF's chances with Giles but the longer Giles puts off committing the better for WF since if they were doing a package deal, you'd expect Giles to commit shortly after Tatum.
 
If both Tatum and Giles end up at Duke, something is just wrong. Make your own mark, fellas - do something truly influential, something bold. Not something completely predictable and forgettable. Be the ones who own something special THAT YOU built - don't rent what is already owned by others.

Harry needs to realize how much fun it is to hate Carolina and Duke. When you go to Wake, you get that automatically, in addition to being a hometown hero.
 
Giles already is a hometown hero. He wants to be a champion.

I understand that reason to want to go.
 
No one said that there were no rational arguments for going to Duke.

As far as being a hometown hero, there are different degrees. You can settle for high school hoops hometown hero, or you can try for nationally televised and recognized by tens of millions as a hometown hero. Right now Harry may be a HS hoops hometown hero, if he goes to Duke, even that will be minimized.

Who says he can't be a champion at Wake and be a big-time nationally recognized hometown hero?

A real star writes his own story and makes his own history, rather than follows the crowd of other five stars; and if all goes according to plan and all the pieces fall into place, which is in no way guaranteed, then and only then, he can simply repeat a success that many others have already achieved.

Follow the crowd, or be your own man: what would a real star do?
 
WCA quartet plus Richard Washington today. The Peach Jam semifinals and final games are on ESPNU. Tatum should be announcing on ESPNU before the first semi-final at 9am.

Afraid that means it is a done deal, Tatum has probably already told the coaches of his choice and the Dukies are there to watch their new player
